Welcome to the Second Philosophies of Liberation Encuentro

The second meeting of the Philosophies of Liberation Encuentro builds from and extends the work of its inaugural 2019 meeting in Los Angeles, co-hosted by Loyola Marymount University and Casa 0101, a community arts center in Boyle Heights. The Encuentro promotes decolonial theory and praxis aimed at the advancement of human life in community and defense of the living cosmos. This work is inspired by philosophies and practices of liberation and decolonization across the globe.

This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom, bringing together an international gathering of thinkers and artists. This Encuentro is made possible by the generous support of Bowie State University and co-sponsorship of Fordham University and the Council of Hemispheric Affairs.
